Breathwork is a gateway into the subconscious mind, allowing you access to your inner world in a whole new way. Breathwork is a somatic healing therapy, meaning it happens through the body. Using the power of your own breath to access non-ordinary states of consciousness, the innate intelligence of your BodyMind system is able to take over.

The human experience is complex, right?

As we navigate through life, it’s likely we’re going to encounter some emotional rollercoasters. This could be something as ‘simple’ as during childhood years someone laughing at us while we were singing a song and it made us feel a type of way. Our little brains create a pattern that will keep us safe from feeling this way again. It could be growing up in an environment where it wasn’t safe to show emotions or verbalise how you were feeling so it became a coping mechanism to ignore how you feel and pretend everything is fine and dandy. Life can also present some pretty traumatic events; losing a loved one, the end of a relationship, experiencing a natural disaster - to name a few.

In all of the situations above, our nervous systems become activated and there is an energetic charge coursing through our bodies. As a society, we are never taught how to regulate ourselves so when we experience these highly emotional and energetic events, if we cannot self-soothe (the vast majority of humanity - no one is alone in this) then this charge has nowhere to go. It’s left incomplete in remains stuck in our body while our mind tells us we’ve moved on!

We allow the inner wisdom of our BodyMind system to come into the driver seat and create space for any and all old, stuck emotional and energetic charges to come up to the surface, to be felt and to be released. The type of Breathwork I offer is consciously connected activate and restore Breathwork. Activate breathing being associated with the sympathetic nervous system (- fight or flight), and restore bringing us into a rest and digest state linked to the para-sympathetic nervous system. By breathing intentionally for an set period of time it’s possible to switch out our brainwaves from our high analytical thinking ‘Beta’ into Alpha, Theta and even Delta and allows us to ‘zoom out’, gaining insights and access to information we don’t normally have in our day-to-day consciousness.
